(Under review) I study how funding delays affect researchers
To what extent can policy influence the volume and direction of research? We address this question by studying California’s decision in 2004 to invest $3 billion over 10 years towards stem cell research.
A package of ggplot themes and geoms loosely related to economics
I study the effect of short-term interactions on scientific collaboration and knowledge flows. Using variation in the timing of when reviewers serve together as reviewers for the NIH, I find that short-term interactions lead to an increase in citations between pairs of scientists.
